As far as i am concerned, the second that the goverment aproved the theft of all property by imposing property "taxes" we started losing all our rights. You never own property you just lease it from the state.

When I moved to Florida, I moved to a county and into a subdivision with no HOA and no deed restrictions. When some of my idiot neighbors decided they wanted to start an HOA, I stood totally against it and made it clear I would never join and they would never speak for me, in writing and certified mail I know they had the greatest of intentions to make our community better but having seen what happens after those people with the greatest of intentions leave and the money hungry and the power-hungry take over, I knew to fight any move toward HOA. It is now twenty-three years later and I have all the fruit trees I want and an RV in my driveway

I've ran into the same thing. I was an Alderman for the town, and they still tried to bully me. I told them they would have to take it to court under Tennessee Code. That shut them up. So glad I sold that property and moved to another county.

I'd say she's lucky that these people aren't acting like Christians. If anybody's ever actually read the Bible they would realize that the Christian things to do in many situations aren't even ethical. According to God if a child is acting up and being unruly they should be taken into a field and stoned to death by the adults in the community. If you work on a Sunday you should be stoned to death. There's a whole lot of stoning people to death in the Bible for doing things that aren't really that bad. But I guess they are being Christian in one aspect. You could do as much bad as you want in your life because Jesus already died for everybody's sins, so as long as at the end you ask God for forgiveness then you're okay with him. And why does everybody always refer to the constitutional rights as god-given rights? There is nothing about any of those rights specifically stated in the Bible. If the first amendments freedom of speech and religion was in the Bible I'm pretty sure not as many people would have been killed for being Heretics, and I'm pretty sure there weren't many guns around so the Second Amendment wouldn't have been written in the Bible to protect them either, Fifth Amendment didn't apply in those days either, and somebody being secure in their property and belongings, I don't think that right was very well-established either. They are all government-appointed rights which many countries don't even have, even if they're a religious country. Now if Government doesn't even obey basic laws that they put in place, such as traffic and property laws(speeding, stopping or yeilding at signs/lights, signaling, parking, obstructing lanes of travel, parking on and obstructing sidewalks because they don't want to walk 30 feet to get from a parking space to the deli, littering when they direct traffic because I always see the empty bottle of whatever the officer was drinking laying on the ground after everyone has left for the day, vehicle registration/inspections are many times months or even years expired on city/town as well as personal vehicles, driving while intoxicated, solicitation, accepting bribes/payoffs, discrimination/profiling, trespassing, destruction of property)why would anybody assume that they would actually uphold rights unless they benefit themselves?
I may be wrong on this, but I don't believe that all the citizens of the United States agreed that government officials, judges, and law enforcement should have qualified immunity to almost anything they want short of murder and even sometimes that if they just say it was an accident after 20 officers couldn't find the right house because the number on the side was higher than they could count, which is probably around the same level as their IQ's, the mid double digits at best, I'm pretty sure they gave that to themselves unlawfully and we've all just accepted it for so long that now we can't do anything about it. The list is way longer than that as y'all know.
The people stood by and trusted government to do what's best for everyone for so long that I can't even blame the government for taking advantage of the lack of supervision. Unless everyone in the country wants it to change and comes together, instead of arguing over stupid crap that only matters to a few thousand people, this is what we are stuck with. We need a nationwide petition to reform our government. Local change helps, but not enough.

Hello. Action happening in front of Palm Beach Historic Inn building on the sidewalk in front of Scotti's Wines and Liquors yesterday at 4:15pm. (4-18-23) Pedestrian wearing beach attire without shoes on sidewalk, flanked, surrounded by 2 PB Police. No interaction between "suspect" and police, however individual was on phone while police were moping around him. He could have been walking from the beach to his car or to a restaurant on the island when police showed up and was questioned because he wasn't WEARING SHOES and wore a dark 1990's t-shirt? He was probably on the phone with his attorney and had his back to the police the whole time, wasn't worried…

Unless they r paying ur bills or ur mortgage – how is it ur expected to ask permission to make ur home ur way? U don't live in an HOA neighborhood do u? Also, I just watched a video of this flashy gay guy who wanted to paint his house and fence as colorful as his personality – n even though some neighbors protested loudly, he got his way, each board on the fence is a different color and the porch n house as well… n now its super brite and colorful, and even the COPS were painting w the supporters!!!!! There's no way u'd ever miss it… sorry, I don't remember the state, but what u described doesn't sound like an eyesore at all… and u have to ask 'mother-may-I' for ur own house n yard?… Holy hell..😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Good luck…

I am not trolling and am not a bootlicker, but let's keep it real.
As someone who grew up in southeast Florida and did construction, building and contractor work I simply cannot understand how anyone could think they can just build a privacy fence or lay down pavers without first submitting a small project proposal to their city, get approval, a permit and a final inspection from their city to do the work.
This is simply standard operating procedure particularly regarding rules related to hurricane windstorm, flooding and watershed considerations. Fences and built structures need to be anchored into the ground with concrete or to certain depths so they don't become airborn during a hurricane and damage neighboring property or cut a human half as it flies through the air. There are many vital details that need to be followed in this regard. I don't want your privacy fence uprooted and in my living room during the next hurricane.
Also the process prevents shoddy, substandard work from being done that affects future purchasers of homes and properties if they have to repair the crappy job. This was and still is a serious problem in Florida, especially vulnerable seniors getting ripped off by fly by night installers doing terrible work.
Pavers need to have the proper substrate installed underneath so they don't get washed out with Florida's high rainfall. In some instances concrete may also have to be used underneath as well depending on factors related to the job and the property.
For me, the rules and considerations were even stricter because I lived in a "historical district" and repairs, changes or upgrades cannot deviate in appearance from the original historic look of the home's appearance and design. Sometimes I would have to make three or four project proposals for a project before it could get approval regarding appearance and aesthetics being adhered to. But this is what you did to be responsible and contribute positively to the neighborhood while getting done what you needed done. Even colors used on a house was limited to maintain the historical status.
Sure, I dealt with overzealous city authorities that made it more difficult than it had to be at times, or even corrupt inspectors looking for small bribes to pass an inspection on an already perfect job which I reported to authorities for disciplinary action, but that never prompted me to just do a project without going through the proper channels and process up front. And once they get to know you at city hall and that you have a reputation of doing good work, then they lighten up on the scrutiny with your future projects.
And of course your shipping containers were not allowed in a residential neighborhood as long term standing structures. They are large, unsightly, deviate from the typical, local style of residential architecture and make a neighborhood start looking like a warehouse district instead of residential.
I mean, what gives? Are you really that entitled?
It would have been much cheaper for you to do all of it correctly and by the book up front than just install it willy-nilly and now deal with the repercussions.
I am asking myself how were you not completely ignorant of this reality and acting foolishly in this regard.
Sure the city is corrupt in what they may be doing, but that does not entitle you to be allowed to also break the rules. All you are obligated to do is also get them and yourself into compliance.
You got caught doing things you should not be doing. Honestly, without such standards it would be chaos as to what people would be building and installing. I am all for freedom, but we don't live in the wild west either. I don't want my neighbor using his lawnmower at midnight just outside my sleeping baby's bedroom, for example.
Sounds like you need to buy a rural farm in Montana to enjoy less standards than a suburb of the fourth most populated state.
A couple hundred bucks and a couple trips to city hall to do it right and you would not now be resorting to e-begging and court proceedings to "fight for your rights".😅
