Due to several small disturbances throughout the day at Boca Ciega High School, including one incident where a student was arrested for hitting a staff member, we asked Pinellas Sheriff's Office to have some deputies assist us in creating an increased presence in the area at release time.

As school was letting out, GPD officers located a stolen vehicle driving by the school. The vehicle fled when they attempted to stop it, but a deputy was able to deploy stop sticks which deflated one of the tires. The vehicle continued to flee (there was no pursuit), and the suspects abandoned it in the parking lot of the Holy Name church.

All of the law enforcement units in the area worked together with K9 and helicopter support in searching for the suspects for approximately one hour. At this point, they have not yet been located.
